Bombshell Betty, whose burlesque acts have wowed audiences across North America and Europe, has enjoyed training burlesque performers over the course of her career and now she is available to pass on her expertise to you! Ever watched a burlesque show and thought “Wow! That looks like fun, I’d love to do that!” Well, now you can learn to strut your stuff in a sexy and lighthearted class atmosphere. Learn the basics of burlesque performance and get in shape while shimmying and shaking your way through fun dance routines! Burlesquercise!® has been going strong for over a year now and has grown into a dynamic and supportive community. I have created a at Yahoo as a resource for current and past students, organize outings to local shows, and host small get-togethers to help students get to know each other and develop a support system within the local performance community. Burlesquercise!® Class Description Classes are booked in six-week sessions and occasional specially scheduled drop-in classes. While the classes are intended to be taken on an ongoing basis (and many students come back for several sessions), each session is set up to stand alone as a mini crash course in burlesque, including bump-and-grind basics, character development, song interpretation, prop use and much more!Each class starts with a burlesque inspired warmup and workout. You will be shaking your stuff and getting in shape with conditioning moves and exercises inspired by traditional burlesque dance, retro dance choreography (think Fosse and Gene Kelly), pilates-like toning moves, and classic burlesque bump-and-grind. As well as focusing on the basics of burlesque performance, each session has a unique focus or theme. You will learn fabulous dance choreography, utilizing appropriate props and gimmicks, and basic moves and dance steps in that style. This is not your average “strip in your bedroom” class. You will gain confidence, and since you will have many opportunities to perform, you can decide for yourself when and if you are ready. You will also be able to participate in the development of your fellow-students’ solo numbers!

Session Descriptions We’ve got “Spring Fever!”: Yes, the skies are grey, but we’re ready to play, because we’ve got Spring Fever here at Burlesquercise!® This session, in addition to the one-of-a-kind workout, bump and grind dance moves and retro choreography that Burlesquercise!® is famous for, we’ll be focusing on fan dancing and other peekaboo props! This is the first time we've covered fan dancing in class, so don't miss out on this sweet treat! Learn to be a “Femme Fatale”: Utilize your feminine wiles to set them on fire ... on stage and off! The same principles used to captivate an audience while on stage can be used to develop your personal charm and charisma off-stage, too. In addition to the one-of-a-kind workout, bump and grind dance moves and retro choreography that Burlesquercise!® is famous for, you will learn to use eye contact, timing, subtle (and not so subtle) sensuality and other flirtatious techniques to reel them in and then knock them dead! You may think you’re a shy girl, but they’ll never believe a word of it.
Session Registration RATES: Register early for only $90! Early registration is due one week before the session start-date. After that time, the fee goes up to $100, so please get your registration in early. Space is limited, so you must pre-register to be guaranteed a spot in the class. Day-of-class registrations will be accepted on a space available basis before the beginning of the first class.
